Newsletters

Newsletters are one of our specialties. We try to employ a clean, bright design that draws busy readers into your newsletter -- and your message.

We can take your stories and fit them into an attractive newsletter design, or we can write and design the whole newsletter from scratch. It's your call. In either case, together we can create a product that you'll be proud of and that your readers will rely on for valuable information.

Newsletters are outstanding promotional tools for almost any business. The beauty of a newsletter is that it has built-in credibility. The reader views the information presented as news, rather than as advertising or promotional material. We have many clients who can easily trace new business and the return of old customers to specific issues of their newsletter.

Newsletters are especially useful for creating an ongoing presence. They are a frequent, and unobtrusive, reminder of your company, product, or service. Our newsletter clients say it is important to keep your name in front of the customer.

Developing a successful newsletter takes commitment. It's not something you toss together in an afternoon. We know that you're too busy to take care of all the details of designing, writing, and laying out each issue of the newsletter. But that's where The Roberts Group can help. We get the job done -- with no headaches.

PDF Newsletters

Some of our clients distribute their newsletters in PDF format. Newsletters distributed in this way can be delivered via e-mail or through links on a Web page. With a PDF newsletter, there's no expense for printing or mailing. Since the newsletter is not being printed, it's easy and cost-efficient to use full color graphics and design to make the newsletter catchy and appealing. In addition, PDF newsletters make it possible to have a Table of Contents that's hot-linked to stories inside the newsletter. It's also possible to hot-link from the newsletter to pages on the World Wide Web. To view a working example of these features, see Telesoft News.

E-Mail Newsletters

Another newsletter format that's becoming increasingly popular is the HTML newsletter that's sent to your contacts by e-mail. HTML e-mail newsletters can include a unique design that represents your company, graphics, logos, and, of course, links to information, sales pitches, or order forms on your Web site.

HTML e-mail newsletters are like web pages that open in your e-mail reader. For an example, see Brand News.

Award-Winning Newsletters

The Horizon newsletter, which we produce for the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro in North Carolina, won a Bronze Award for Excellence in Communications in the 1999 Wilmer Shields Rich Awards Program. This awards program is sponsored by the national Council on Foundations and the Communications Network. It promotes more effective communication among foundations and corporate donors.

The panel of 90 judges included communication experts, professional writers, journalists, publications designers, and public relations professionals from across the country. The judges rated Horizon based on clarity of writing, design, overall concept, and effectiveness.

Horizon Project Details: The client provides text on disk and photographs. The Roberts Group edits the text, scans the photos, and designs the two-color newsletter. Typically, Horizon is 8 to 12 pages. In issues where artwork is sparse, we supplement photography with selections from our clip art and stock photography libraries.

Fax Newsletters

More and more of our clients are finding that fax newsletters are the perfect way to deliver specific information to a targeted group of recipients.

Fax newsletters are generally quick, one-page sources of essential information.

Here's what's involved:

  1. We design a template for the newsletter.
  2. Each issue, you email us the text, which we will edit and lay out.
  3. After getting your approval on the layout and content, we'll mail or email you a copy of the fax newsletter for you to distribute.

If you're faxing through a physical fax machine, we'll send you a paper copy. However, if you're distributing your faxes via a computer fax, you'll be more successful using files in PDF format. The advantage of PDF is that fonts and formatting are transmitted just as the newsletter was designed.

So call 952-322-4005 or email us today to find out how soon your newsletter can be impressing your clients and helping to boost your sales.
